"Knowledge of the work of God's grace in the past encourages us to trust in Him and seek His blessing in the present and for our future." It is with this in mind that the students of the "Académie Théologique de la Réforme-Jacmel" concluded their week-long class on "Ancient Church History."
This class, which began on Monday 20th and ended on Friday 24th May, gave students the following opportunities: to learn the major theological issues that the ancient Church (33-600 AD) discussed and the conclusions the Church reached, to become familiar with the major leaders of the ancient Church and the impact they had, and to become familiar with the heresies that the Church faces in order to learn about the dangers that the Church still needs to avoid today.
“Prayer is an earnest and familiar talking with God, to whom we declare all our miseries, whose support and help we implore and desire in our adversities, and whom we laud and praise for our benefits received. So that prayer contains the exposition of our sorrows, the desire of God's defense, and the praising of His magnificent name, as the Psalms of David clearly do teach.”
