In addition to this class, Rev. Fisher has taught classes for TMI on Soteriology in Colombia and Christology in Bolivia.
Prof. John Burke taught Expository Preaching to 21 students in Sunchales, Argentina
Sunchales is a small city, though, where everyone knows each other, all the churches are at least Christian in name, and the parents feel comfortable letting their children play in the park unattended because it is safe. It's like going back in time to the 1950s. It's a place where parakeets continually chatter in the trees and the dogs lounge in the shade while the people take a siesta around 2 pm because the heat is unbearable. It was on average 103 degrees which is quite unbearable with the high humidity.
Although there were a few differences between us we had much more in common through our shared faith in Christ. It was a great privilege to teach them biblical theology and to cover the whole Bible with them in a matter of days. And it was a great privilege for me to learn from them as well. There is much for me to chew on. It was a tremendous blessing.
Give Me a Heart of Wisdom
Dr. Richard Smith participated in the 1st Reformation Argentina conference held in Sunchales, Argentina. He spoke twice: Psalm 90 and the topic “Give Me a Mind of Wisdom” and Psalm 107 entitled “Whoever Is Wise.”
Earlier, in 2022, Dr. Smith also spoke and taught in Managua, Nicaragua, with SRL at the 505 Years of the Protestant Reformation conference. Dr. Smith spoke three times on the topic of solo scriptura. He also spoke at an evangelical university about loving God with the mind. Afterwards, in the nearby town of Jinotega, he taught a course about the biblical worldview.
