Biblical Counseling

In God’s kindness and generosity, He allowed Dr. Daniel Berger II to come to Tirana, Albania, to teach at our Biblical Counseling Training, on 8 & 9 July, 2025, at the historical Hotel Mondial. Daniel Berger has studied, intensely, on the topic of Mental Illness, and only after completing 20 years of study, wrote his first book on the topic.

Daniel is a pastor with a B.S. in Counseling, a M.S. in Counseling/Psychology, a M.A. in pastoral studies and a doctorate in pastoral theology, and is extensively involved in teaching and training opportunities.

For the first two sessions of this conference, Daniel laid the foundational framework of his teaching based on Ecclesiastes 1 and 2, and wisdom literature from the book of Proverbs, addressing the question, “Is there a perfect Psychology?” Then, in two more sessions, he talked on the history, philosophy and doctrines of the mental illness construct. The next two sessions were on the topic of Bipolar Disorders and the Schizophrenia Spectrum. Finally, the last two sessions addressed the topic of ADHD, and how Biblical Prudence Resolves impulsively and lack of self-control.

Although our group was on the smaller size - 35 in number, we walked away stirred up in the things of God; to know Him and His Word more thoroughly because it has so much to teach us and help us with the many things we face in life. We were helped, encouraged, and stimulated to go further into study of God’s Word and the workings of the mind in order to help ourselves; to correct wrong thinking and put on right thoughts, to live more holy lives for God, and in our endeavors to help others in their life struggles to know the wonders of God’s grace in Christ Jesus, revealed in the truths of Scripture.

We are grateful for the personal, humble manner in which Daniel taught us and how he desired to know us and build relationships with those present. Daniel has a God given way of explaining intricacies of our mental processes in understandable, fascinating ways that draw people in, opening hearts and minds to know more. We were all enthralled by how interwoven we are with the Scriptures, as God speaks, through the Bible, deep spiritual and philosophical realities of life.
