David Crum met Jane Turner at a Bible study at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and together decided to pursue missions after attending Urbana, the Inter-Varsity Christian missions conference. Dave graduated from Moravian in 1977 with a Spanish/Business Administration degree and Jane, in 1978, with a degree in medical technology. Marriage on June 3, 1978 sealed their united mission-minded goals. At Westminster Theological Seminary, Dave earned a master of divinity in 1982. Between the years 1983 to 1990 their family expanded to include four children: Timothy, Michael, Adrian, and Jana.
Ordained by the Presbytery of Southern California on November 29, 1983, Dave served as the presbytery’s evangelist working with the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Mexico in Baja California, Mexico. From 1983 to 2008, the Crums developed two programs where short-term mission volunteers came to help the Mexican congregations from as far away as Alaska, Florida, Maine, and the Midwest. For Team Baja, up to thirty-six volunteers stayed in the Crums' home for a week, then in the homes of church members for the second week while they helped to repair and build churches and teach VBS. Presbytery church groups came for Weekend Witness, staying at the Crums' while working at one of the Tijuana churches and worshiping together.
Dave was called as regional home missionary for the Presbytery of Southern California in 2009, operating out of their home in Fallbrook, California. The work in Mexico was at the point where a local presbytery of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Mexico was forming. Dave has helped to develop mission works in Tucson and Yuma, Arizona, and Anaheim Hills and Capistrano Beach, California.
The resurrection is the vindication of Christ's claims and the confirmation of His Messianic office.
