Biblical Worldview

From November 3–10 Dr. Richard Smith (center) and Lic. Iván Tomassini taught in Honduras and Nicaragua. Traveling along with us, was our good friend and guide, pastor Isaías Martenez (left) from Honduras.

Pastor Martenez summarizes their trip. “I want to share how God has used the Kuyper Center through Dr. Smith and Iván Tomassini. During their visit to Honduras and Nicaragua, we were able to experience firsthand how God guided us to a deeper understanding of what it means to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We also had the opportunity to learn more about Neo-Calvinism and to establish valuable connections with churches and pastors who were deeply impressed by the work of the Kuyper Center and the resources it offers—webinars, conferences, and training materials—to strengthen faith and Christian thought. Their teaching and example have been a great blessing to us and an inspiration to continue serving faithfully in our local contexts. We are very excited for what will come in 2026, when we can continue to actively participate and collaborate with the initiatives of the Kuyper Center.”

Itinerary:

• Nov. 4 - On the 4th in Honduras, we met with evangelical university students, talking about calling and the biblical worldview. Sadly, they lacked under-standing about the biblical story. Later that day and at a different university with a mix of Christian and non-Christian students, the interaction was livelier. We presented the Gospel through the lens of calling and worldview.
• Nov. 5 - we traveled six hours to Nicaragua and spent an additional three hours at the border. Despite the delay at the border, a large group of teachers and parents waited for us at a Christian primary school. I spoke about the pedagogy of ancient Israel and Iván spoke about the renovation of our minds in Romans 12:1–2. The Director of the school remarked afterwards: “Your presentations left me thinking. We decided that in the following year and for the whole year we will teach the Ten Commandments to the children as a biblical foundation.”
• Nov. 7 - That evening we spoke at a former Pentecostal church now Reformed. They were very attentive and inquisitive.
• Nov. 8 - We spoke at a conference where 114 people attended. There were more than twenty pastors and leaders from Reformed, Baptist, and Pentecostal churches. Richard spoke about biblical anthropology and Iván about common grace.
• Nov. 9 - We preached in different churches, Richard spoke about Mary of Bethany and the “one thing necessary.” Iván preached about our total and radical commitment to Christ.
